Jeera Pulao

Jeera Pulao

This is my version of Jeera Pulao ;)


2 bay leaves
2 cardamom 
1 laung or clove
2 saboot kaki mirch or peppercorns 
2 tsp jeera or black cumin
1 stick dal chinni or cinnamon
1 green chilli
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chilli powder
2 tbsp oil
1 cup basmati rice
2 teaspoons chopped coriander
2 onions sliced thin
2 cups of water


Heat oil in a heavy bottomed pan, add bay leaves, cinnamon, clove, cardamon, jeera, let jeera splutter, then add onions and wait till the color turns pink.
Add salt and red chilli powder and mix well.
Add rice and 2 cups water and cook the rice on low heat till ready.
The spices give an amazing aroma when being cooked.
When ready, transfer it on the serving dish and garnish it with chopped coriander.
Serve it with Gravy, Dal or Raita.
