Strawberry Kheer by Saveen Kaur

One of the most delicious and blissful variation of one of the most famous and loved Indian Dessert -Kheer!

So I love to give my own twist to the dishes I create and all I can say is I am so proud of this one not because I have created it but because it was so blissfully yum and loved by everyone :)

Mixing my favourites - Strawberries and Kheer has been one of the best thing I did in early 2020, lol ;)
Ok I had made Strawberry Kheer a few years back but didn't share the recipe then so I thought of sharing this as the first recipe on the blog because it is so good!


1/2 cup Rice
1/2 litre Milk you can add more if required if the Kheer is turning out to be too thick
1/2 cup Sugar
10-12 Strawberries 


Soak rice in water for 2 hours. 

Drain the water when you bring it to cooking. 

In a Kadhai, boil milk, once boiled, add rice and let it cook on slow flame till the rice is swelled up and is cooked. 

Add more milk if required. 

Add sugar and mix it in well. 

Let it cool completely. 

Kindly note that I am not adding any other Flavour in this variation of Kheer because I want the natural Strawberry flavour to be dominant since it's Strawberry Kheer. 

Now Caramelize Strawberries 
In a non stick pan, add sliced Strawberries ( Keep a few aside for garnishing) 

Sprinkle 1 tbsp Sugar and 2 tbsp Water

Let it cook well for a few minutes. 

The Strawberries will soften and have a beautiful glaze. 

Mix in these with the cooled Kheer. 

Keep it in the fridge for atleast 4-5 hours before serving so that the flavor enhances. 

While serving garnish it with fresh Strawberries 🍓🍓🍓😁
