Dense Dark Chocolate Cake by Minali Bajaj-Syed

And here comes Chocolate Day special recipe - Gorgeous Dense Dark Chocolate Cake by Minali 😊

Ingredients

2 sticks (200 gms) butter, softened
1 and 2/3 cup (350 gms) brown sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk (for eggless)
100 gms dark chocolate, melted
1 cup espresso (1 cup hot water + 2 tsp coffee powder)
1 and 1/3 cup all purpose flour or brown flour
1 tbsp cocoa powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt

Method

1. Preheat the oven to 180 C or 350 F.
2. Mix all the dry ingredients together and keep aside (flour, cocoa powder, baking powder and salt).
3. In a glass bowl, mix the butter and sugar well until combined.
4. Add the buttermilk and continue to blend. Do not over mix, as this will add air to the batter, and make the cake fluffy instead of dense.
5. Now add the melted chocolate and blend it well.
6. Next add the dry ingredients and alternate with the hot espresso. Continue doing so until all the ingredients are blended together.
7. Grease a loaf tin with some butter and dust with flour. Alternatively, you can also use parchment paper.
8. Pour the cake batter into the loaf tin and bake for 40-45 minutes.
9. Allow the cake to cool down after baking. You can use chocolate ganache, buttercream, whipped cream or any choice of your icing. Top with fresh fruits, chocolate dipped berries or sprinkles.
10. ENJOY!
