Malpua with Rabri

Malpua with Rabri with a little twist!

This is my Mum's recipe to which I added my own variation by making Malpuas in the shape of heart :)
The best part about it is that it is low in calories compared to the one normally made.

The Malpuas are made with whole wheat flour instead of refined flour and are made on a non-stick pan instead of being fried in Oil.

Rabri is made with Cow's milk instead of full fat milk.

So hope you enjoy this yummy treat :)

Malpua

Ingredients

1 cup whole wheat flour  or atta
1 tbsp raisins
1 tbsp dessicated coconut
1/2  - 1 tbsp sugar as per taste
1 tsp fennel seeds

Method

Put atta in a Bowl. Add enough water to make a liquid batter. The consistency should not be thick or thin, it should be good enough to make a pancake.
Add raisins, coconut, fennel seeds and sugar. Mix it really well and keep it aside like that for 2 hours.

Side by side you can prepare Rabri.

When making Malpuas, heat a non-stick pan. Put a small spoon of ghee on it and spread it over the pan. Clean it with a cloth.
Spread the batter on the pan and make rounds.
Turn it on the other side and cook too.
For the heart shape cut the Malpua with a heart shaped cookie cutter.

If you want the glaze on the Malpua, then apply little ghee on both the side and fry on the pan.

Rabri

Ingredients

1 litre milk
1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
8-10 crushed almonds for garnishing
1 tbsp sugar

Method

Heat milk in a Kadai till it thickens. It will take two hours or more. You need to be patient.
When it starts thickening, then at the end, mix in sugar and cardamom powder.
Remove it from flame in a serving bowl and garnish it with crushed almonds and raisins.
Let it cool.

Place Rabri over Malpuas and indulge :)

Happy Cooking Happy Relishing 😊
