Mushrooms In White Sauce


I love eating and cooking Mushrooms because like Cottage Cheese, you can experiment so much with Mushrooms and try out so many different variations.


In this dish, I have made Mushrooms seperately and then added them in White Sauce and it turned out to be delicious, have it with garlic bread and you'l be craving for more ;)


To make the mushrooms in white sauce we first need to cook mushrooms.



1 tbsp olive oil
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp ground black pepper
400 gms mushrooms
1/2 tsp ginger-garlic paste

Method

Heat 1 tbsp oil in a wok, add ginger garlic paste, cook till it turns goldenish brown, add finely sliced mushrooms, cook for a few minutes, add salt and pepper. The mushrooms will release water, cook on medium flame till the water dries up and the color of mushrooms turn goldenish. Keep it aside.

Now make the White Sauce

50 gms butter
2 - 3 tbsp white flour
1 tsp salt or to taste
1 tsp black pepper powder
1 tsp oregano powder
1 tsp red chilli flakes
1-2 tbsp parsely
1/2 tsp sugar
1/2  - 1 glass milk as per required
2 cheese cube grated


Method

Melt butter in a pan, add flour, kindly note butter and flour should be almost the same quantity. Mix it and keep stirring it on low flame till it turns deep in color.
Add milk, keep stirring it continuously on low flame so that there are no lumps formed. In case there are let them dissolve or else remove them.
Add all spices and seasonings, except sugar, let them cook well. Add 3/4 th grated cheese. Add sugar and mix well.
Add cooked mushrooms.
Add chopped parsley.
Cook till sauce thickens.
After it is cooked, transfer the sauce into a serving bowl.
Garnish it with cheese, oregano powder, red chilli flakes and chopped parsely.
Serve hot with buttered garlic bread or any bread of your choice.
