Mushrooms on Toast topped with White Sauce by Saveen Kaur



One of the best Tea Time Snack!

I love Mushrooms and I love love white sauce so bringing them together on a toast is always a fabulous idea 😋😍

So easy to make, you will relish this yummy snack for sure!

I like to pair it with Hot Coffee or Cold Coffee depending on my mood, so you can pair it with whatever drink you like!



Ingredients to Assemble the Toast


4 Bread Slices

2-4 Cherry Tomatoes 

Mint Leaves for garnishing

Butter to spread


Cook White Sauce


Ingredients -

1 tbsp Butter
1 tbsp Maida or Refined Flour
1 glass of Milk
1 glass of Hot Water
Salt to taste
1 tsp Oregano
1 tsp Red Chilli Flakes
1/2 tsp Black Pepper Powder
1 tsp Sugar


Method -

Heat butter in a pan and add maida.
Cook it on a slow flame till it turns little pinkish in color.
Switch off the flame and add milk. If there are lumps, then add hot water as per required.
Start the flame on high mode and give it a boil.
Then reduce the flame and add salt, oregano and red chilli flakes. Mix it well. Add sugar and mix well.
Cook till the sauce turns thick but be careful it should not turn very thick. Cook just till it reaches the right consistency.


Cook Mushrooms


Ingredients - 

10-12 Mushrooms
1 tbsp Butter
1/2 tbsp Oil
Salt to taste
Black Pepper to taste

Method -

In a Kadhai, heat butter. 
Add chopped Mushrooms. 
Add salt and black pepper to taste. 
Mix well. 
Cook for 3-4 minutes till done. 
Keep aside. 


Assemble the Toast -

Toast the bread slices!

Apply butter on toast, spread cooked mushrooms on the toast, top it with hot white sauce and garnish the toast with cherry tomatoes and mint leaves!

Serve hot and relish 😊
