Beetroot Hummus by Saveen Kaur


Delicious & Healthy Snack for those evening cravings!

So here comes a snack for which is loaded with protein and nutrients, its so delicious that you will not crave for anything that collides with your weight loss goals and keeps you full for a longer time!




Ingredients - 

1 cup boiled Chickpeas

1/2 cup Beetroot grated 

2 tsp Olive Oil

2 cloves of Garlic 

1 tsp Cumin Powder

4-5 seeds of Cardamom

1/2 Lemon Juice

Salt to taste

A few Mint leaves

Sesame Seeds for garnishing 

Few Chickpeas for garnishing 

1 - 2 tsp Red Chilli Flakes

1 tbsp grated Beetroot for garnishing


Method - 

Soak Chickpeas overnight.

Drain that water and add fresh water in the cooker.

Add Chickpeas.

Add salt and give a stir.

Cook them in a pressure cooker.

It will take 6-7 whistles.

Once done, strain the Chickpeas and let them cool.

Don't discard the water, keep it aside till your hummus is ready.

Combine all the ingredients together and blend them in a food processor till smooth.

You can add little liquid of the boiled chickpeas if required to make a smooth fine hummus.

When done blending, transfer it into your serving dish or storage vessel.

Garnish it with grated Beetroot, Roasted Sesame Seeds, few boiled Chickpeas and Mint Leaves as shown in the picture above!

Indulge with raw veggie sticks, lavash, or spread it on a toast!

Enjoy :) 



You can store the Hummus in the fridge for 4-5 days!
