Raita Recipes by Saveen Kaur




 Easy Peasy super delicious cum super healthy recipes to elevate your meals and mood!


Vegetable Raita




Super Healthy and Super Delicious Dish! One of the best way to eat a boring Salad 😉 


I call this the Mother of all Raita's because it has so many vegetables and tastes so so delicious and looks gorgeous too 😍😋

That's how I love to make my food more interesting and delicious!



Ingredients

2 cups Curd
1 Cucumber - chopped
1 Onion - chopped
1 Tomato - chopped
1 Beetroot - boiled and grated
1 tbsp Coriander - chopped
3 Green Chillies - chopped
1 tsp Salt or to taste
1 tsp Red Chilli Powder
1 tsp Chaat Masala
1 tsp Black Pepper Powder
1 tsp Sugar
2 tbsp Milk or Water


Method

Beat curd in a bowl, add milk or water and mix it well into a nice consistency. 
Add all vegetables (keep some for garnishing) and mix in well. 
The curd will change into pink color. 
Add all spices and mix in well. 
Garnish it with veggies. 
Keep it in the fridge and serve cold. 

Ideally you should make and keep this half an hour before serving for the flavour to enhance. 



Aloo ( Potato ) Raita





A delicious Indian dish made with curd, boiled potatoes and spices to keep you cool this October!


Ingredients

400 gms curd
2 green chillies chopped finely
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp jeera masala
1/2 tbsp coriander to garnish
2 - 3 Boiled Potatoes

Method

Put curd in a bowl and make it smooth in consistency with a spoon.
Add salt, red chilli powder, sugar and jeera masala.
Add green chillies.
Add diced boiled potatoes.
Mix it well.
Keep it in the refrigerator till serving time.
Garnish with coriander.




Boondi Raita





That's how I like to eat my Boondi Raita 💚
A delicious mix of Curd, Boondi and Spices!
Boondi are tiny little crispy yellow color balls made of deep fried gram flour. You get them ready made in the market. They are salted and are called Khari Boondi. You need to soak them in water for sometime before using them so that they become soft.

Ingredients

Half cup Boondi
200 gms Curd 
1 tsp Salt or to taste
1 tsp Sugar (optional)
1 tsp Red chilli powder
3-4 Green chilli chopped
1 tbsp Coriander 
1/4 th cup Milk 


Method

Soak boondi in water and keep it for sometime till it swells.
In a bowl add curd, it is very important to break the thick curd to slim it down to a thinner volume. First beat the curd. Then add room temperature milk and fold it in well with the curd.
Then mix in all the ingredients together well.
Your delicious Raita is ready.
Garnish with Coriander.
Keep it in the fridge till serving time.



Beetroot Raita





Delicious Beetroot Raita! Made with Curd and Beetroot, love the colour and the dish made out of it 💗

Ingredients

1 Beetroot
200 gms Curd 
1 tsp Salt or to taste
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Black pepper 
1 tsp Red chilli powder 
3-4 Green chilli chopped
1 tbsp Coriander 
1/4 th cup Milk 


Method

Boil one beetroot. Once its soft, remove it from flame and let it cool. Grate it when cold.
In a bowl add curd, it is very important to break the thick curd to slim it down to a thinner volume. First beat the curd. Then add room temperature milk and then mix in all ingredients together well.
Your delicious Raita is ready.
Garnish with Coriander.
Keep it in the fridge till serving time.



Strawberry Raita 




A Strawberry twist to your regular Raita 😋

Super delicious and super easy to make! Do try 😊


Ingredients

10 - 12 Strawberries chopped
10-12 Strawberries pureed
200 gms Curd 
1 tsp Salt or to taste
1 tsp Sugar
1 tsp Black pepper
1 tsp Red chilli powder
3-4 Green chilli chopped
1 tbsp Coriander 
1/4 th cup Milk 


Method

In a bowl add curd, it is very important to break the thick curd to slim it down to a thinner volume. 
First beat the curd. 
Then add room temperature milk and then mix in all ingredients together well.
Your delicious Strawberry Raita is ready.
Garnish with Coriander and Strawberry.
Keep it in the fridge till serving time.


Mango Raita 





I thought how about making a Raita using Mangoes! 
Not only sweet and spicy but gingery too ;)


Ginger Up your Meal and your Mood with Mango Raita :)


Ingredients

2 cups curd
1/4th cup milk
1 tsp Salt or to taste
1 tsp Sugar
1 cup Cubes Mango
1 tsp Red chilli powder 
4-5 Green chilli chopped (optional)
1 tsp Dry ginger powder 
1 tbsp chopped Coriander
1 tsp Cumin seeds powder 


Method

Beat curd well in a bowl. Add room temperature milk and fold in well with the curd. Mix in all the ingredients well. Garnish with chopped coriander and chillies.
Yummy Gingery Raita is ready!

Keep it in the fridge till serving time.



Pineapple Raita




Pineapple Raita is a delicious combination of pineapple and curd. Very easy to make and tastes amazing 💛

Ingredients


400 gms curd
2 green chillies chopped finely
6 - 7 slices of tinned pineapple
1 tbsp sugar
Salt to taste
1 tsp red chilli powder
1 tsp jeera masala
1/2 tbsp coriander to garnish


Method

Put curd in a bowl and make it smooth in consistency with a spoon.
Add pineapple syrup from the tin to make it thin in consistency and to add flavor but make sure you don't make it very thin.
Add salt, red chilli powder, sugar and jeera masala.
Add green chillies.
Add 3-4 chopped pineapple slices.
Mix it well.
Keep it in the refrigerator till serving time.
Garnish with pineapple slices and coriander.
