Rose Rabri by Saveen Kaur

A super delicious Indian sweet dish made with milk, sugar and flavoured with Rose Essence!

So I had made this yum yum yummy Indian sweet dish during Diwali and everyone loved it!

This time I combined Rabri with Vanilla Cake Squares, yes you read it right :) and the outcome was fabulous. So I had kept both the variations - The Regular Rabri and The Rose Rabri.

I had iced the Vanilla Cake Squares with Rose Rabri and garnished them with Pistachios.

So the recipe for both is same, its just that for Rose Rabri, I have added Rose Essence and Rose Food Colour to it.

Ingredients

  • 1 litre Milk
  • 1/2 tsp Cardamom powder
  • 8-10 crushed Almonds
  • 2 tsp Pistachios for garnishing
  • 1 tsp Raisins
  • 1-2 tbsp Sugar as per sweetness required
  • 1-2 drops of Rose Essence
  • 1-2 drops of Rose Food Colour (optional)

Method

  • Heat milk in a Kadai till it thickens. It will take two hours or more. You need to be patient.
  • When it starts thickening, then at the end, mix in sugar and cardamom powder.
  • Remove it from flame in a serving bowl and garnish it with crushed almonds and raisins or pistachios.

  • Let it cool.

For Rose Rabri -

Add 1-2 drops of Rose Essence and Rose Food Color respectively according to taste and colour required after the Rabri has cooled.

Happy Cooking Happy Relishing 😊
