Cake and Cream Jar

A jar containing goodness of life ;)


I have made this using Cake crumble and Strawberry Icing and finally garnished it with colorful gems! I love colors :)

To make the Cake Crumble, you first need to make a cake so here is the recipe for the Cake -

Ingredients for a Chocolate Sponge Cake

1 + 1/4th cup flour
1 cup thick curd, you can use the readymade one available in the market.
1/3 cup melted dark chocolate
1 cup castor sugar
1/2 cup oil
1 tso baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp vanilla essence

Method

Take a bowl, add curd, beat it slightly with a spoon to make it smooth and even, mix in sugar. Add baking powder and soda, add vanilla essence and oil and mix wekl. Add melted chocolate and fold in well. Add maida and mix it to make into a fine batter for the cake.
Pour the cake mix in a greased tin, round or square shape, whichever you prefer.
Bake it in a preheated oven at 180°C for 30 minutes or till done. Insert a knife to check whether it is done. If the knife comes out clean, it means the cake is ready and if not then wait till done. Keep it in the oven for a few minutes before removing it.
After a few hours you can cut the cake into slices and use a few to make the Cake Crumble.

If you don't want to make a cake home, you can always buy a ready made sponge cake from the market and make the cream home.

To make the Strawberry Butter Cream

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter
2 cups icing sugar
1/2 tsp strawberry essence
1/2 tsp red edible color


Beat together the above ingredients till smooth, then pour it in the icing bag.

To Assemble

Take a jar or a glass, put cake crumble at the bottom, add cream, then again add cake crumble and then cream. Garnish it with gems.
