So I had made this recipe originally in 2014 for Christmas and had shared it on the blog and today I am resharing it and brought it forward because I still make it and love it 😋
To make Chocolate Coated Strawberry Cake Balls, you first need to make a Strawberry Sponge Cake And Then Coat the cake balls with Chocolate.
Strawberry Sponge Cake
Ingredients
- 1 + 3/4 th cups flour
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup yellow butter
- 3/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup coca cola or thumbs up
- 1 tsp strawberry essence
- 1/2 tsp red food color
Method
- Mix softened butter and sugar, beat them well till fluffy.
- Sieve flour, baking powder anf baking soda.
- Mix all together, add strawberry essence, red color, and cola.
- Beat very well till light in consistency.
- Pour the mixture in a round tin.
- Fill 3/4 th of the tin.
- Bake it at 180°C for 30 minutes or till done.
- Keep it in the oven for few minutes.
- Remove it from the oven, let it cool a bit.
- Once little cool, shave off the crust and the edges of the cake, break it into pieces and make balls. Keep aside.
Chocolate Coating
Ingredients
- 100 gms Dark Chocolate
- 1 tsp vanilla essence
Method
- Melt Dark Chocolate using a double boiler, add vanilla essence.
- Coat Strawberry Cake Balls with Chocolate by inserting a toothpick to cover it completely. Once coated well, remove the toothpick and place it on foil paper. It will harden in a few minutes.
- After coating with chocolate, take a gem and put little melted chocolate on one side and place that on the chocolate coated cake balls.
- Place them on a tray on just roughly drop chocolate sauce with the spatula over it and finally dust some icing sugar for the snowy effect.
